Brief description
"Built in 1865, the chapel replaced an earlier structure of 1832 described as a “mud-and-stud building”.
There were up to 100 sittings, with extra room provided in 1909 by the addition of an attached Sunday school hall. This was the only place of worship in the hamlet.
In front of the main entrance is, unusually, a War Memorial – an arched gateway of brick and stone in the care of the parish council.
In 1995, a “shared building agreement” was made with the New Life Church, after which it remained open for several more years. It is now a dwelling called The Old Chapel.
A stone plaque on the front elevation reads: Wesleyan 1865."
