Accessibility:

There are free car parks on King Edward Street, North Road and Whitland Station, none of which have disability spaces. There is a small area of on-street parking, including some designated as disability parking, away from the centre of the town but beware of time limit restrictions or double yellow lines. Pavements are generally flat and tarmacked but some are narrow and occasionally street furniture (lamps, telegraph poles) may cause an obstruction.

There are toilets with disability facilities available on Cross Street (SN198166).

Brief Description:

Whitland is a small town on the River Tâf and was the site Hwyel Dda's gathering of lawyers and churchmen to collate the first unified laws of Wales.  The Abbey from which the town takes its name is a ruin, the base of the walls can still be viewed.

The town hosts the Hwyel Dda Interpretive Centre, a railway station, a fire station, churches, chapels, sports clubs, schools and holiday parks as well as an array of public houses and shops.
