Accessibility:

Located on the second floor of White Friar’s car park, Shopmobility can be accessed via lifts. They provide three hours free parking and have accessible toilet facilities.

Brief Description:

A scheme partially sponsored by Canterbury County Council, Shopmobility provides electric scooters, manual wheelchairs and powered wheelchairs to anyone with mobility problems or impairments, giving freedom and independence to explore Canterbury. There are hire charges for the use of the equipment.

Hire charges

"Rent our equipment by the half day, day, week or longer. If you live in our area or are visiting locally our Shopmobility Charity office offers free short stay or subsidised longer stay parking in dedicated spaces right outside our shop in the City centre. We are also very close to the bus and trains. If you are suffering from mobility issues, illness or injury making getting around the area difficult then we can offer support with modern mobility appliances and have a small selection of ex fleet wheelchairs and scooters for sale."

It is recommended that you book in advance to make sure equipment will be available.

Directions:

Shopmobility is located on the 2nd floor of Whitefriar’s car park. Lifts from the car park will take you to the second floor and from here Shopmobility is located directly around the corner on the left.

White Friar’s car park is located in the centre of Canterbury, just off of the A28.
