Tower of Refuge, Douglas, Open daily, free entry - not very accessible
Details
Accessibility:
It's better to view this tower from a distance due to its inaccessibility. At certain times of the year during low tide you're able to reach the tower on foot; however please be aware this is very dangerous and not advised. You can get a good view of the building either from Douglas Bay or at low tide, walking across the beach/seafront. The Isle Of Man Steam Packet ferry boats which run to and from the sea ferry terminal/visitor centre at Douglas pass by the tower, and this is how these photographs were taken.
You can park at Douglas Promenade and then there is a 30 minute walk to the sea front form there, this is where you will get the best view.
