Castlewellan is a small town in Co. Down, within the Mourne Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is well known for its Forest Park which centres around Castlewellan Lake.

The most central bus stop is Upper Square.
Note that buses take two different routes between Downpatrick and Newcastle; one via Castlewellan (17a), and one via Dundrum (17).
