Details

Accessibility:

Parking, including disability parking, is available. The cost of parking is covered by the charge for bringing your vehicle into the Castlewellan Forest Park site.

Dogs are allowed but must be kept under control by their owners to ensure they do not distress other visitors or wildlife. It is recommended to keep dogs on their leads while enjoying the maze.

The paths of the maze are quite narrow, with large hedges growing on either side. The surface is flat, except for a shallow incline which winds round to the centre of the maze where the “Peace Bell” is located. A smooth ramp then connects from this upper level to a path to the East of the maze. This gives visitors the option to exit the maze without having to find their way out by going back through the maze.

Brief description:

The Peace Maze was created in Castlewellan Forest Park in 2000. Those who successfully solve the maze will find the “Peace Bell” in the centre to ring.
