Accessibility:

Parking, including disability parking, is available. The cost of parking is covered by the charge for bringing your vehicle into the Castlewellan Forest Park site.

The “Ballroom”, “Downstairs Lounge” and “Courtyard Lounge” conference rooms are on the main ground floor of the castle, accessible across a flat surface from the entrance. The “Downstairs Lounge” and “Courtyard Lounge” are carpeted rooms. The “Ballroom” has a wooden floor. The rooms are open spaces, with the option of setting out individual chairs for guests.

The “Small Lounge” is between the ground and first floor, making it less accessible than the other conference rooms. There is one narrow doorway into this smaller room.

Rooms for overnight stays are available on all floors of the castle.

A 19th century castle within the grounds of Castlewellan Forest Park. The castle is currently home to a Christian conference centre; providing accommodation for residentials, and rooms for meetings of religious and school groups.

Directions

Access via Castlewellan Forest Park. From Main Street in Castlewellan, turn onto Castle Avenue. Continue North and you will reach the gates of the Forest Park. Follow signs for "Conference Centre".

The nearest bus stop is Upper Square.

Note that buses take two different routes between Downpatrick and Newcastle; one via Castlewellan (17a), and one via Dundrum (17).

The 518 bus service between Belfast and Newcastle stops in Castlewellan.

Amenities

Toilets are available in the castle.

There are two dinning rooms in the castle; “The Library” and “The Dinning Room” which can hold up to 54 and 88 people, respectively. The “Dinning Room” works on a self-serve basis.

The Grange Café and picnic areas are also available on site.

A games room is free to use for all guests in the castle.

There is a gift shop in the castle selling ice-cream, and souvenirs.

Main Street is 0.5 miles (0.8km) away. Here you will find a range of food and clothing shops, a bank, and a post office, as well as eateries and pubs.
