Accessibility:

There is no on-site car parking, however the closest car parks are at Monk Bar and Union Terrace. There is at step up into the churchyard at the Goodramgate entrance, and wheelchair access via the Petergate entrance. There is a portable ramp providing access into the church, there is restricted access in some parts of the church due to steps at level changes. There are no toilet facilities within the church.

Brief Description:

Holy Trinity Church is a Grade I Listed Building which was originally built in the 12th Century. It features a tower and stained glass windows. Inside there are box pews which date back to the 17th Century. Families would have rented out these box pews on an annual basis. The church is now redundant and under the care of the Churches Conservation Trust.

Directions:

From Fulford via A19. Head north on Fulfordgate towards Heslington Lane. Turn west onto Heslington Lane. Turn north onto Main Street/A19. Bear north-east onto Barbican Road/A19 and continue to follow. Bear north-east onto A1036 and continue to follow. Turn west onto Goodramgate and follow until you reach your destination.


From Rawcliffe via A19. Take Eastholme Drive and Rawcliffe Lane to Clifton/A19 in York. Follow A19 and A1036 southbound to Goodramgate. Drive to Goodramgate.

2026: "The main body of the church at York Holy Trinity does not have heating or electric light. Lighting is by candlelight - approximately 150 candles in total. The internal temperature is often colder than that outside, but blankets are available on request. It is possible to access power by running an extension lead. Heating, toilet and tea making facilities are available in the Vestry. 

Seating is in the historic box pews which means that sight lines are variable and sharing of pews may be required. Acoustics are excellent and use of the pulpit during hire is encouraged."
