Accessibility:

There is no on-site car parking. The nearest council-run car park is 0.3 miles away at Bootham Row, YO30 7BP. Blue Badge holders can park in any bay free of charge, for as long as they want. There are 13 dedicated disabled bays which are available for Blue Badge holders only.

There is stepped access into the main entrance with wheelchair access via a portable ramp. There is a wheelchair available to borrow if required. There are then further sets of doors into the main part of the church, but these can be hooked back to provide access wide enough. There are some internal steps within the church building which do not include ramps.

Wheelchair users are encouraged to ask for assistance, as their team will be happy to assist. 

There is an accessible toilet located at the Belfrey's office building next door to the church building - the office is known as 'The Parish Centre.' There are baby changing facilities within one of the two toilets in the church building. Should you require use of these, please ask a member of the team, who will be pleased to direct you to these facilities.

The Parish Centre may not be staffed at weekends, in which case the nearest accessible toilet is located 900ft away at St Leonard's Place, YO1 7EW. They are open 9am to 5pm 1 October to 31 March, and 9am to 6pm 1 April to 30 September. Opening hours may be restricted over Christmas and New Year bank holidays. The nearest Changing Places Toilet is located 0.2 miles away at York Explore Library, YO1 7DS.

Brief Description:

St Michael Le Belfrey is a sixteenth-century church offering a peaceful, free-of-charge visitor experience in the heart of York's Minster quarter. With a notable collection of stained glass, evidence of Guy Fawkes' baptism. It is a rectangular building with a nave and two aisles.
