Accessibility:

The closest car park is in Grayburn Lane which is off Lairgate; at the weekend parking is available behind the Treasure House. There are four designated blue badge parking bays directly outside in Champney Road and a further two in Princess Gardens. There is wheelchair access throughout and a lift which serves all floors. There is a public toilet including wheelchair accessible facilities. There is a hearing loop system installed at the archive research room desk.


Brief Description:

The Treasure House was opened in 2007 and is a centre for heritage in Beverley. It contains a Library, Museum and Art Gallery as well as Archives and Local Studies. The museum contains permanent exhibitions with displays on geology and natural history, as well as temporary ones. One of the main pictures in the art gallery is The Panic by Henry William Banks Davis. There is a gift shop and coffee lounge. The Treasure House tower provides views across the town, especially of Beverley Minster.

From Pocklington via A1079 (18.1 miles). Take The Balk.B1247 to A1079. Follow A1079 for 3.9 miles. At the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto York Road/A1079. At the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Giant Bradley Way/A1079. At the roundabout take the 2nd exit and stay on A1079. Continue to follow for 7.8 miles. At Killingwoldgraves Roundabout take the 2nd exit onto A1174 and continue to follow for 1.8 miles. Continue onto Wylies Road/A164. At the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Manor Road/A164. Continue straight onto New Walkergate/A164. At the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Railway Street/A164. At the roundabout take the 1st exit onto Champney Road/A164.
