Accessibility:

Level access into the Chapel, although the Chapel is on a slight incline in Hillside Terrace. Through the village not all roads have pavements/sidewalks, so some roads may not be wheelchair/pushchair friendly. 

 

Brief Description:

The village of Glen Maye is on the West coast of the Isle of Man and is known for its spectacular Waterfall. It houses the Glen Maye Methodist Church which has recently undergone refurbishment, however the original Chapel was erected in the early 19th century.

Directions:

From Peel via A27 (5km). Head east on Derby Road/A20 towards Mona Street. Turn right onto Albany road/A1. At the roundabout take the 1st  exit onto Queens Drive. Turn left onto Glenfaba Road/A27. Continue to follow the A27. Glen Maye Methodist Chapel will be on your left just past the junction with Arrasey Road.


From St Johns via Patrick road and A27 (6.2km). Head east on A1 towards Station Road. Turn right onto Station Road. Turn right onto Patrick Road. Turn left onto A27. . Glen Maye Methodist Chapel will be on your left just past the junction with Arrasey Road.

Amenities:

Glen Maye village is rural and the only public house is currently closed, there are some holiday let cottages in the village. However Niarbyl Visitors Centre is a 5 minute drive away. There are plenty of attractions in nearby Peel and St Johns including hotels, bed-and-breakfast accommodation , restaurants and bars. Tynwald Mills Designer Shopping Centre, which has food outlets and toilets, including disability toilets, is in St Johns.
