Accessibility:

There is public parking on Talbot Road. There is partial wheelchair access into the church hall. There are toilets inside, but not wheelchair accessible. There is a stairlift up the 4 steps to the gents toilets. Assistance dogs are welcome.


Brief Description:

Built in 1928, Priestman Hall is the church hall attached to St Andrew’s Church, it is a Grade II Listed Building. It was named after it’s benefactor John Priestman, a wealthy shipyard owner who was also the principal benefactor for the building of St Andrew’s Church. A Lych Gate was built in 1920 as a memorial to those who fell in the First World War.

From Newcastle Upon Tyne via A184 (12.8m). Get on A167 from Queen Victoria Rd and B1318. Continue to Newcastle Rd/A184. Follow A184 to Newcastle Rd/A1018 in Sunderland. At the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Newcastle Rd/A1018. Follow B1291 Fulwell Rd and Side Cliff Rd to Talbot Road.

 

From Durham via A690 (16.8m). Follow A690, A19 and Wessington Way/A1231 to Northern Way in Sunderland. Take B1291 and Side Cliff Rd to Talbot Rd.
