There are 9 stone steps leading up to the entrance of the house. Only the hall and entrance of Maister House are accessible to the public.
Brief Description:
Maister house is part of the national Trust, and is the smallest National Trust venue in Yorkshire. The house was rebuilt after a fire in 1744, and later let for office use in 1822. In 1966 it was given to the National Trust. There are two portraits in the entrance hall, on loan from the Ferrens Art Gallery.

Directions:
Situated 5 miles South/East of Dunswell. Head South on Beverley Road and at roundabout take the 2nd exit, continuing on Beverley Road/A1079. At large junction turn left onto Freetown Way/A165, and then turn right onto George Street/Wilberforce Drive. Continue onto Lowgate and Market Place. Turn left onto Liberty Lane, and at the end of the road turn left onto Highstreet. Maister House will be on your left hand side. OS TA101287

Bus services operate in and around the area, with the closest stops located on Alfred Gelder Street and Lowgate. There will be a short walk to Maister House. Car parks can be found on Lowgate and Clarence Street. Hull Central railway is a ten minute walk away.
