Brief description
Southchurch Hall is a picturesque Medieval, partially timber-beamed and moated ‘Grade 1’ listed building, which in parts dates to the 14th century. There are interesting Tudor and Stuart artefacts and a bed chamber in the Victorian style on the first floor.
The Hall was a private family home until the 1930s when after renovation, it was gifted by the Dennett family to the people of Southend-on-Sea. Its fine gardens are maintained by the ‘Southchurch Hall Inspirational Parkers’, a dedicated group of volunteer gardeners.
