Accessibility:

There is space for one car to park in the farmyard next to the church and in the gateway opposite. This is a working farm so care should be taken not to obstruct farm traffic. The entrance to the site is via an impressive lychgate with a relatively narrow wooden gate leading to a gravel path, which can be uneven in parts. The threshold into the church is wooden with a 1" step down to negotiate. The church floor is slate flag stones and may be uneven or have small steps in places.

Brief Description:

Tradition dictates that this remote, Grade I listed church was founded in the 6th century by Rhychwyn, son of Welsh prince Helig ap Glannog. The prince lost his land when it was engulfed by the sea so he and his sons turned to religion.

The earliest parts of the current building, including the font, are believed to date from the 12th century with 13th or 14th century roof beams with a second aisle added in the 16th century. Further minor alterations were made in the 18th and 19th centuries. There is a fragmented 15th century painted glass window behind the altar depicting the Holy Trinity and the Virgin and Child.
