Accessibility:

No parking on site.  Drop-off point and turn-around space outside entrance. Pay-and-display accessible car parking spaces are available about 100 yards from the Gallery.  Steep walk from the Harbour or town centre.  Entrance to gallery via a long sloping wheelchair access with handrail, or multiple steps. Three wheelchairs are available to hire, can be booked in advance.  There are accessible toilets on the third floor.  Baby changing facilities.  Lift to all floors. Possible access from rear to top floor, enquire directly to venue.

Brief Description:

The Tate St Ives gallery is one of four Tate galleries in Britain. It houses art by some 20th century St Ives artists, including Barbara Hepworth.  It also has exhibitions of different art throughout the year. For up to date information visit their website:

Tuesday to Sunday 10.00–16.20, last admission 16.00

Admission Charges:

£10.50/£9.40 concessions   (without donation £9.50/£8.50) Concessions apply to 60s and over, students over 18, visitors with disabilities, job seekers. There are also discounts for parties and free entry for Tate members. All visitors travelling to the gallery or museum by public transport receive £1 off admission on production of a valid ticket at the time of purchase (not to be used in conjunction with any other offer).

Directions:

The Museum is situated on Porthmeor Hill overlooking Porthmeor Beach.  About a ten minute walk from the harbour. From Porthmeor Hill there is no vehicle access past the Gallery, there is a turning circle. OS SW 516 407

Transport:

Shop selling books, cards and gifts. Cafe on the top floor of the site, with good views, open Tues - Sun 10-16.20, serving breakfast, lunch and cream teas.  Plenty of amenities in St Ives.
