Roadside parking available, as well as public car park situated close to the beach. There is a lift for beach access, open from the end of April to the end of September, 10am - 5.30pm. Dogs are allowed on the beach from October-April. Lifeguard patrols from June-Sept. First aid centre located close to the beach lift, and accessible toilets located at different points on the beach. Beach is flat and sandy.

There are also many places to stay close to the beach and further into Whitby itself including, Old Westcliffe Hotel, Bay Royal, La Rosa and The Old Boatman's Shelter. Accessible toilets are located on the beach.
