Accessibility:

Pathways around the coast and town are laid to tarmac . Kerbed walkways, with some quite steep slopes. Beach is accessible via railed, sloped ramps. Blue badge parking bays are situated around the coastal roads and town.


Brief Description:

Port Erin was once a smuggling site. It is a quiet seaside resort, harbouring small craft and fishing vessels. With its sandy beach it is a popular family holiday resort, as well as diving destination. There are also regular boat trips from here to The Calf of Man.

Directions:

Situated 4.4km's from Colby. Head SW on A7. After 2.2km's take first exit at roundabout onto A29/Church Road. At next roundabout take 3rd exit onto Castletown Road. This will lead you into Port Erin. OS SC196689.


Transport:

There are several bus services that serve Port Erin, as well as a Victorian steam railway that runs between Port Erin and Douglas. Parking is available along the coastal route and in and around the town.
