Accessibility:
There is limited car parking available on the streets around the church, with some of it being permit-holder parking only. However there is some pay and display parking. Parking is available in St John’s Square on Sundays. There is a ramped entrance into the church and toilets including disability toilets which are wheelchair-accessible and include baby-changing facilities. Large print books are available and a hearing induction loop is in place. Assistance dogs are welcome.
Brief Description:
St John’s Church is a Georgian church built in 1795 and restored in 1905 with the addition of a chancel. It was originally built as part of the small property development of St John’s Square.

Opening Hours:
Open usually after the service on Sunday from just after 11 am until 12.30, and on Wednesday it is open for lunch between 12 and 1.30. Services on Sundays at 8.00am and 10.00am
Directions:
From the North: Leave the M1 at Junction 41. At roundabout take the exit onto the A650 towards Wakefield. At roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the A650. At roundabout take the 1st exit onto the A650. At roundabout take the 3rd exit onto the A650 and get into the right-hand lane. As this lane divides, keep in what becomes the second from right hand lane. Go straight through two sets of traffic lights. The Church is situated on your right hand side in about a quarter of a mile. You will see the tower.
From the South: Leave the M1 at junction 40, then at roundabout take the 3rd exit onto the A638 Keep in left hand lane then continue forward onto the A642 (City centre) Turn left onto the A650. Church is situated on your left hand side.
