The museum and library are accessible to all, with level access, automatic doors and lift access to all floors. There are accessible toilets and baby-changing facilities. A limited number of disability parking bays are located to the side of the building. There is a hearing induction loop available and large print museum interpretation.

Wakefield museum and library is located in the heart of Wakefield, inside one building. The museum explores the history of the people of Wakefield, with a Victorian kitchen, 1940's living room and fancy dress for children.

Opening Hours:

Monday, Tuesday, Friday - 9am-5pm. Wednesday, Thursday - 9am-7pm.

Saturday- 9am-4pm. Sunday- closed.


Directions:

Situated 6.5 miles from Dewsbury. Head South East on Wakefield Road/A638. At roundabout take the 2nd exit to continue on A638. At the next roundabout (Flushdyke Interchange) take the 2nd exit and continue on Wakefield Road/A638. This road then becomes the A642, continue following this road onto Westgate. Keep in the left lane to turn left onto Mulberry Way. Then turn right onto Burton Street and the museum is located on your right hand side.
