Brief Description:

Cardle I Wesleyan Methodist Chapel was opened in 1815. It originally only had three box pews on either side of the pulpit, with a partially laid floor. The rest was beaten earth. Story has it that the local preacher only managed to preach once at the chapel as the pulpit couldn't bear his 24 stone weight. A gallery was added in 1830, and a floor and further seating was added in 1840. The site is now occupied by a Sunday school.

Cardle II Wesleyan Methodist Chapel, also known as 'Threepenny Chapel' was opened in 1910. The cost to lay memorial stones there at the time was £5. In 1925 the Sunday school was renovated, but the chapel was closed in 1986. The congregation now share a premises with the Dhoon Anglican Parish Church.
