Brief Description:
The museum was opened in 1960 and named after the local industrialist, Sir Alfred Herbert, whose donations made the museum possible. The building saw an extensive refurbishment between 2005 and 2008 which provided a modern space and facilities to house more exhibitions, events, educational facilities and archives.

Directions:
Travelling by car around Coventry city centre can be complicated so walking or public transport is often the easiest option.
To reach the Blue Badge parking spaces on Bayley Lane leave the ring road (A4053) at Junction 5 and head into the city centre on New Union Street. At the mini roundabout take the second exit onto the B4544 and head north towards the council buildings. Follow the road round to the right and take a left turn onto Bayley Lane just before the road narrows (you can see the museum building on the opposite corner). The parking bays are on the left after 20 metres/yards.
