Accessibility:
2025-
The Cathedral is a space for all and we want everyone to feel welcome here. We take accessibility very seriously and we work very hard to make the Cathedral accessible to all where we can.
Disabled parking is available on Cuckoo Lane alongside Holy Trinity Church – roughly 100 yards from the entrance of the New Cathedral. Access to both Cathedrals from this point is via St. Michael’s Avenue which is cobbled but has an inlay of smooth stone slabs.
Accessible toilets are located inside the New Cathedral, at Nave level. Access is via a ramp on the left-hand side of the building.
There is level access to the Ruins from Bayley Lane, and from the entrance by the Tower which can be accessed via a path from St. Michael’s Avenue. There is level access to the New Cathedral via the doors in the West Screen, and all parts of the Cathedral at Nave level are accessible with the exception of the Chapel of Unity and the Chapel of Christ the
Assistance dogs are welcome within all areas of the Cathedral campus, and to all events and services.
Please note: Paving within the Cathedral campus is a mixture of cobbles, flagstones and modern paving and can be uneven in places so care should be taken, particularly in wet weather.

Brief Description:
2025-
"The Cathedral Church of Saint Michael, commonly known as Coventry Cathedral, is the seat of the Bishop of Coventry and the Diocese of Coventry within the Church of England. The cathedral is located in Coventry, West Midlands, England.
The city has had three cathedrals. The first was St Mary's, a monastic building, from 1102 to 1539, of which only a few ruins remain. The second was St Michael's, a 14th-century Gothic church designated as a cathedral in 1918, which remains a ruined shell after its bombing during the Second World War, apart from its tower and spire, which rise to 284 feet (87 metres). The third, consecrated in 1962, is the new St Michael's Cathedral, built immediately adjacent to the ruins and tower of the former cathedral – together forming both a symbol of war-time destruction and barbarity, and also of peace and reconciliation."
