Accessibility:            

Situated at the far end of South Quay, upon which there are no waiting lines, where disabled motorists with a Blue Badge can display it and park up to 3 hours providing they are not obstructing traffic.. There are 8 steps to the entrance of the lifeboat station. Car Park at Shaw's Brow about 700yds (650m) flat walk away. 
Nearest public toilets at the Market Hall about 900yds (850m), a level, flat walk away (20p charge), with disability access.


Brief Description:

Douglas Lifeboat Station is one of five on the island.  The Tyne class lifeboat is named after Sir William Hillary, the founder of the RNLI.
There have been two Lifeboat stations at Douglas, the first was established in 1802 and the second in 1874 which is the present one. See their website, Facebook or Twitter pages for the history of the station and all up to date information.
