Accessibility:

There is a pay and display parking area within Church Street and disability parking areas located in the city centre. 

Level access to the property is at the main entrance with a wheelchair friendly lift to the first floor located nearby.  Toilet facilities and Disability toilets are located on the ground floor near the main entrance. A Hearing loop has been installed and is available in The Reception Area, Counting House and the First Floor Tudor classroom.  Should assistance be required there is a Visitor Services Team available.


Brief description:

The Guildhall is one of the finest examples of early 15th Century half-timbered merchant building, built between 1418-1420. It was originally the headquarters of the Merchants Guild. By the mid-1500's the schoolhouse, Chapel and Almshouses had been added.   The school became known as King Edward VI's Grammar School and William Shakespeare attended between 1571-1578.  Please refer to the website for further historical facts about the property buildings.

Directions:

From Stratford-upon-Avon Tourist Information Centre located in Bridgefoot, Take the A3400 into Bridge Street, then High Street and into Church Street, property is located on the left hand side immediately adjacent to the Guild Chapel.

Opening Times:

Open daily, 11.00 am - 5.00 pm 

Admission charges are: Adults - £8; Concession - £6; Child - £5; Family ticket - £22.  A discount is applied for tickets purchased online.
