Accessibility:

There is designated disability parking in Chapel Street for Blue Badge holders, with Short-stay parking near by.  Access to the chapel is via a ramp. There are no toilet facilities available at the Guild Chapel, nearest facilities are located in the Theatre Gardens at Waterside.  Hearing loop and large print guides to the chapel are available.  Assistance dogs are permitted.  Please refer to the website for a downloadable Full Access Statement.

All areas of Stratford-upon-Avon are easily accessible by car and on foot.  There are designated disability parking areas and several car parks available in the town centre. The town centre has a pedestrian area with flat easy access to places of interest.

Brief description:

Historic records show that The Guild Chapel existed as early as the 13th Century, with some parts being rebuilt in the late 15th Century, i.e. nave and tower.  The Chapel is renowned for its well-preserved medieval religious wall paintings which were discovered during restoration work in 1804.

Directions:

From the Tourist Information Centre, Bridgefoot, take the A3400 head into Bridge Street, turn into High Street and continue into Chapel Street.  Destination is on the junction of Chapel Street and Chapel Lane.

Entrance is free but donations are welcome.

Guided tours of Chapel and Medieval Wall paintings are conducted on 1st Tuesday and 3rd Saturday of every month (Apr-Sept).
