Snaefell Mountain Railway station cannot be accessed by car. It is situated at the highest point of the island and concludes the Laxey - Snaefell train journey. The carriage is accessed via three steps and a narrow corner doorway. The small concrete platform area at the top of the mountain is extremely uneven. There are three benches available at the summit.

However, at the base of the summit, located on the A18 is Bungalow Station which has a cafe and restaurant available with toilets onsite. Parking is available.

Brief Description:

Located at the highest point of island, Snaefell Mountain Railway is situated 2,036 feet above sea level. On a clear day it boasts incredible views with visitors being able to see as far as England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. It is the only electric railway in the U.K that travels across a mountaintop. It started life in 1895 and still provides seasonal daily trips to the summit from 7th April 2017 to 5th November 2017.

Journeys from Laxey are approximately 5 miles and last 30 minutes. Prices vary. Sightseers are able to purchase a 'Go Explore' card which allows them to use both the rail and bus services on the island over 1, 3, 5 or 7 consecutive days. This allows them to stop and explore each sight and rejoin a later journey should they wish. At Laxey Station there is a connection with the Isle of Man Electric Railway which runs from Douglas to Ramsey.
