Brief description

St Cuthbert's Church is within the Roman Catholic Parish of Burnham-on-Crouch and Maldon, within the Diocese of Brentwood in Essex. St Cuthbert's sister church within the Parish is 'Assumption of our Lady', Maldon. St Cuthbert's Church was built in 1911 and was opened on 20 March 1912 ( St Cuthbert's Day). In 1923, a fine stained glass window was installed in St Cuthbert's Church by Nathanial Westlake, one of the leading glass artists of the Gothic Revival. 

As at Spring 2021, in common with other religious establishments in England,opening and attendance at St Cuthbert's Church is subject to the Government's National Lockdown 'COVID-19' Restrictions; presently ( March 2021) St Cuthbert's Church is open for Mass at 11.30 a.m. on Sundays for which seats in the church have to be booked in advance - contact Louise Turrell. St Cuthbert's has a number of groups for the benefit of its parishioners, including children's , youth and adult groups, and other activities in support of the local community.

By Rail - Nearest Railway Station: Burnham-on-Crouch Station, Station Road, Burnham-on-Crouch, Essex, CM0 8BQ. Station operated by Greater Anglia Trains is the penultimate stop on the Crouch Valley line from London Liverpool Street Station. Approx. 50 minutes journey from London Liverpool Street Station. The Station is centrally located in Burnham-on-Crouch town centre close to all local amenities. The Station is manned part-time only. Level access available to the station which has a single platform. Refreshments kiosk. No toilet facilities available. There is a Hearing Loop to the Help Point on the Station.

By Bus : Bus Routes 31/31C/31B/31X operated by First Essex Buses from Chelmsford to Burnham-on-Crouch calling en route at stops near Burnham-on-Crouch Railway Station and on Burnham High Street. St Cuthbert's Church is 2-3 minutes' walk from the nearest bus stop on Burnham High Street.
