Directions

There are several entrances.

Two from Melrosegate road (one has steps and the other has a blue cyclist safety arch) which are narrow paths along a stream called Osbaldwick beck, which converge at the car park near the Environment Centre.

Two from Rawdon Avenue and Harington Street (branch off Melrosegate), which converge at the car park near the Environment Centre. *These are the only entrances to access the car park*

One from Bull Lane (branches off Lawrence Street (A1079)) which goes past York Mosque on the left, then past the St Nicks recycling yard on the right, with two reserve paths branching to the left, before converging at the car park near the Environment Centre. *Please note this entrance is for cycle and pedestrian access only and has bollards that are wide enough for wheel chairs*

One from the cycle track on the opposite site of the reserve:

A nearby entrance to the cycle track is from Melrosegate next to St Aelred’s Church (has a large Jesus-on-the-Cross statue). The initial track goes along, with the church on its left, sloping down, before cross-sectioning with the main cycle track. Turn right, under the road bridge and continue along until you find the large wooden St Nicholas Fields sign on your left.

Another entrance to the cycle track is from Fifth Avenue, on the section between turnings for Sixth avenue and Bowes Avenue. This has blue cyclist safety bars, so not as wheelchair friendly. From this entrance you turn left and continue until you find the large wooden St Nicholas Fields sign on your right

Another entrance to the cycle track is from James Street next to the traffic lights near Morrisons, there is a black and white thin bollard (but with room for a wheelchair). Continue down the path until you find the large wooden St Nicholas Fields sign on your left.
