Accessibility:
Following the public Road past Groudle cottages the lane winds down towards the beach, where public parking is on the left hand side. Please be aware that there is residents only private parking in the adjacent car park, not for public use. Dogs must be kept on leads. There is a style type gate and five bar gate to access to access the beach. This is a pebble beach, so wheelchair access will be difficult.


Brief Description:
Groudle Beach is a small horse shoe shaped beach which was once a smugglers cove.

Directions:
Situated 4.2 miles NE of Douglas, via Queens Promenade/King Edward Road. In approximately 3.4 miles, turn sharp right ( opposite Groudle Road) and follow lane down to the parking area for the beach.  OS SC 420782.



Transport:
Public transport is available via the Manx Electric Railway which runs from Douglas to Ramsey, or bus routes along the A2 or A11 which connect Douglas to Ramsey, but in all cases the steep minor road down to Port Groudle Bay is half a mile south-east from the A11, or over 1 1/2 miles south from the A2, and 2 and a half miles from the Manx Electric Railway station at Baldrine on the A2. The Manx Electric Railway connects with the Groudle Glen Railway which operates seasonally and is run by volunteers, which runs to its station at Groudle Bay.

please note that there is a car park at Port Groudle Bay with a limited number of spaces, and the Bay is popular during the high tourist season.
