There is no parking at the Poço da Neve and roadside parking should be undertaken with care due to the narrow roads. There are steps down to the Poço da Neve, but the exterior can be viewed from the roadside.
Brief Description:
The Poço da Neve, or well of snow, is an igloo-type construction that the Madeirans created over a hundred years ago to store snow and ice for use by hospitals and hotels during the summer months.

The Poço da Neve is on the same unnamed road as the Pico do Arieiro viewpoint. Take the ER103 from Funchal and follow the signs for Pico do Arieiro; the icehouse is 1.6km before the viewpoint.
