Accessibility:

There is a bus station and taxi rank within a few yards of the entrance at the Funchal end. There is also a car park (no specific disability spaces) and toilets at both ends of the journey with most areas accessible to wheelchairs. Roads in Monte are cobbled and often steep.

Brief Description:

The cable car runs over an urban hillside with typical Madeiran buildings and gardens laid out below. The natural amphitheatre in which Funchal sits is the backdrop to the journey with panoramic views over the coastline and port of Funchal. The cable car ride terminates near the entrances to further attractions in Monte.
