Brief Description:

Barnsley is a large town which is situated between Leeds and Sheffield. Barnsley used to be an industrial town centred on coal mining and glass making, although both of these industries have declined now with all of the coal mines now closed, and most of the glass making companies also closed. It has a tradition of brass bands that were formed in social clubs linked to the local mining communities.
