Accessibility:

There is an on-site car park for staff and disability blue badge holders with one designated blue badge parking bay. The closest car park is County Way. There is ramped access into the building and a lift providing access to all floors. Motorised mobility scooters are allowed in public parts of the venue. Public toilets are available including wheelchair-accessible and baby changing facilities. The wheelchair accessible toilet at the rear of the building also features an accessible shower. A hearing loop system is in place and assistance dogs are welcome.


Brief Description:

The Core is a building which provides a wide range of office accommodation and conference facilities. It was built in 2008 as part of the Remaking Barnsley Initiative and was built with sustainable features such as a biomass boiler, solar control and also a roof garden leisure space. It is managed and utilised by Voluntary Action Barnsley, who are a registered charity providing support to the voluntary and community sector.

Directions:

From the M1. Leave the M1 at Junction 37 then follow the A628 towards Barnsley. Follow the A628 through the traffic lights and down to the roundabout. Take the second exit on the left and follow the road past the Library (on the left).  Follow the road round to the left and move into the right hand lane at the traffic lights. Turn right and follow the road back into the town centre. Take the next left (Town Hall on the right) into Regent Street and take the first left just before The Courthouse Pub. The Core is on the left hand side.
