There is a Park and Ride car park with 74 standard spaces, 6 blue badge parking spaces and 2 parent and child parking spaces. It is fully accessible to all users including those with mobility, visual and hearing impairments. There are 3 lifts, 2 escalators and ramps available. It has raised kerbs at the bus bays which enable people to get on and off the buses with more ease. There are public toilets (which attract a small fee), and also wheelchair accessible toilets and baby changing facilities. The station concourse, waiting facilities and route between the bus and rail station are fully enclosed providing a secure and safe environment. There are customer service staff on duty at all times.

Brief Description:

Barnsley Interchange was formerly called Barnsley Exchange and has been on this site since 1850. Renovations and expansions have taken place since that time and in May 2007 the new Barnsley Interchange was opened. From here users have complete access to rail and bus services.

From Wakefield via M1 (13m). Follow M1 and take exit 37 to A628 Barnsley/Manchester. Continue on A628. At Dodworth Roundabout take the 1st exit onto Dodworth Road/A628. At Townend Roundabout take the 4th exit onto West Way/A628. At the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Harborough Hill Road/A161. Take the A628 slip road to Pontefract. Turn left onto Kendray Street/Pontefract Road. Continue straight onto Kendray Street. Turn right onto Schwabisch Gmund Way and your destination will be on the left.
