Brief Description:

Patrington is a village in the area of Holderness in the East Riding of Yorkshire. The Prime Meridian passes just east of the village. During the Second World War RAF Patrington was built, it was a radar station used for ground controlled interception. It closed in 1955 following a new station being built in nearby Holmpton. Within the village stands St Patrick’s church which is a Grade I Listed Building known as the Queen of Holderness.

Directions:

From Hull via A1033 (14.1 miles). Head north-east on Dock Street towards Grimston Street. Turn left onto Grimston Street. Turn right onto George Street. Use any lane to turn right onto George Street/A165. Turn right onto Great Union Street/A1165. At the roundabout take the 1st exit onto Garrison Road/A63. At the roundabout take the 3rd exit onto Hedon Road/A1033. At Northern Gateway take the 2nd exit and stay Hedon Road/A1033. At the roundabout take the 2nd exit and stay on Hedon Road/A1033. At Somerden Roundabout take the 2nd exit and stay on Hedon Road/A1033. At the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Hull Road/A1033. At the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto A1033 and continue for 10.1 miles. Turn right onto Market Place/B1445.

 

From Withernsea via A1033 (4.6 miles). Head west on Seaside Road towards Bannister Street. At the roundabout take the 1st exit onto Queen Street/A1033 and continue to follow for 4.5 miles. Turn left onto Pump Row.
