Accessibility:

There is a car park at the front of the church in High Street which has designated blue badge parking bays. Access for wheelchair users is through the gap in the east wall of the car park, through the Lychgate and to the north porch. There is a portable ramp for wheelchairs just inside the porch to help negotiate the entry step. There is a hearing induction loop system in place, and large print service books. Assistance dogs are welcome.

 

Brief Description:

St Patrick’s Church is known as The Queen of Holderness it is situated in the centre of the village of Patrington. Building began in 1310 and completed in 1410, with work being halted in 1349 due to the Black Death. It has gothic architecture and is a Grade I Listed Building. The spire has been used as a navigation aid for ships on the Humber for centuries. The East Window is a stunning example of stained glass which was installed in the late 19th Century to commemorate the Reverend Francis Sheppard who was the rector for 26 years. Brochures are available for a small fee.

From Hull via A1033 (15.6 miles). Head north-east on Dock Street towards Grimston Street. Turn left onto Grimston Street. Turn right onto George Street. Use any lane to turn right onto George Street/A165. Turn right onto Great Union Street/A1165. At the roundabout take the 1st exit onto Garrison Road/A63. At the roundabout take the 3rd exit onto Hedon Road/A1033. At Northern Gateway take the 2nd exit and stay Hedon Road/A1033. At the roundabout take the 2nd exit and stay on Hedon Road/A1033. At Somerden Roundabout take the 2nd exit and stay on Hedon Road/A1033. At the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Hull Road/A1033. At the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto A1033 and continue for 10.1 miles. Turn right onto Market Place/B1445 and continue onto High Street. Your destination will be on your right.

 

From Withernsea via A1033 (4.6 miles). Head west on Seaside Road towards Bannister Street. At the roundabout take the 1st exit onto Queen Street/A1033 and continue to follow for 4.4 miles. Turn left onto Tithe Barn Lane. Turn left onto High Street/B1445. Your destination will be on your left.
